Girl Scout Troop 40132 honors Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care as Hometown Heroes
Local Girl Scouts delivered cookies and heartfelt appreciation to Pikes Peak Hospice staff during Nurse Appreciation Week in Colorado Springs
Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care recently received a special surprise from some inspiring young members of the Colorado Springs community.
As part of the Girl Scouts’ annual Hometown Heroes program, Girl Scout Troop 40132 selected the staff of Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care to receive Girl Scout cookie donations in recognition of the compassionate care and support they provide to patients and families throughout the Pikes Peak region.
This past Saturday, scouts from kindergarten through 12th grade visited Pikes Peak Hospice team members to personally hand out cookies, share smiles, and thank staff for the meaningful work they do every day.
The icing on the cookie was that the visit took place during Nurse Appreciation Week, giving the scouts an opportunity to show extra gratitude to the nurses who play such an important role in caring for patients and families during some of life’s most tender moments.
From bedside care and emotional support to education and advocacy, Pikes Peak Hospice nurses help bring comfort, dignity, and compassion to individuals across Colorado Springs and the surrounding communities. The thoughtful gesture from Troop 40132 served as a meaningful reminder of the impact healthcare workers have on the community and the importance of recognizing those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care is deeply grateful to Girl Scout Troop 40132 for their kindness, generosity, and support. The visit brought joy to staff members and highlighted the strong sense of compassion and community shared throughout Colorado Springs.
Thank you to these outstanding Girl Scouts for helping make Nurse Appreciation Week even sweeter.
