Grief Support

We know that the journey that begins with hospice care does not end with the patient's passing.  Our grief support is built around a simple belief:  Grief is normal and necessary.  It is part of our human condition, and we must go through it in the wake of profound loss.

One of the first steps is realizing that you are not alone.  There are counselors and resources that can help you through the pain of grief and loss.  The Pikes Peak Hospice Grief Support Team will help you negotiate this difficult passage.

Grief Support at Pikes Peak Hospice

Pikes Peak Hospice offers grief support to family members of our patients for a full 13 months following the death of a loved one.  Services are offered at no cost for families of Pikes Peak Hospice patients, and are available to all in our community for a fee.

For many, one of the most effective ways to work through grief is in the company of others experiencing loss.  As personal and painful as your grief may be, there is power and perspective in knowing that what you are feeling is normal.

We offer a variety of grief support groups led by professional grief counselors and volunteers.  Formats include structured groups that may meet weekly or monthly, as well as informal gatherings.  Some groups are arranged to address specific needs, such as child loss, or children's groups with concurrent parent education.  Others are specifically for men or women, and others just for teens.
