Today’s Tributes, Tomorrow’s Legacies Tribute Program

Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation’s Tribute Program was created as a way to honor those we love, while also raising funds to help provide care for others in our community needing hospice and palliative care services.

The Tribute Program honors and recognizes loved ones when donations received in their name total $1,000 or more as a one-time gift, or given cumulatively over a period of time. Many families designate Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation as a beneficiary of memorial contributions in newspaper obituaries or through publications at funeral homes. Others simply want to remember their loved ones in a way that can be readily shared with others.

Tribute Receptions

Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation Tribute Receptions are held throughout the year. Those who have made a memorial contribution, as well as family and friends of each individual being memorialized are invited to attend a brief, but meaningful reception. Each family is encouraged to submit a story about their loved one along with a photograph to be displayed during the reception, and afterward on our virtual Tribute Wall.

Guests attending the reception are welcomed by Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation Executive Director, Andrew Peterson. One of our Chaplains shares vignettes from the stories submitted, and names of all those being memorialized are read aloud in remembrance. Music performed by local musician Phil Volan creates a special environment for reflection. Each family also receives a family keepsake to commemorate their loved one. All are invited to enjoy light refreshments and mingle with other guests.

Following the reception, the names of those being memorialized are added to our virtual Tribute Wall along with their story and photograph. This information can then be accessed and shared with anyone with internet access anywhere in the world. We are pleased to offer this capability, especially for those who may not be able attend a Tribute Reception.
