Rest easy knowing our Hospice Inpatient Unit is available when you need it most
We are the only area hospice with a hospice inpatient unit equipped to manage serious care needs in a comfortable setting.
Located in Colorado Springs, the Pikes Peak Hospice Inpatient Unit is a specialized setting that provides short-term care management for patients who need the “general inpatient” level of hospice care. This level of care is appropriate when a patient’s symptoms are unmanageable in other settings and require complex and frequent treatment interventions. Our Inpatient Unit also offers the “respite” level of hospice care that allows patients to be cared for and allows their primary caregiver to rest, recharge, or tend to personal responsibilities.
Amenities
Offering eight private patient rooms, our Inpatient Hospice Unit is designed and equipped to manage the most complex care needs. It is staffed 24/7 with our hospice employees who specialize in physical and psychosocial symptom palliation. The design addresses both functional needs and aesthetics. Furniture and accessories were specifically selected to augment patient safety and convenience. Elements of nature were incorporated to ensure a peaceful environment. Tours of the facility are available by appointment (Request Tour Now).
Those with the most complex symptoms need general inpatient care. Our hospice inpatient unit is the best setting to receive this care.
The inpatient hospice unit is not a residence. Many patients receive inpatient care until they are palliated and then return home. Stays are typically less than one week.
