Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care honors Dr. David and Paulette Greenberg with 2026 Quality of Life Award

Longtime Colorado Springs community leaders recognized at Illuminations for five decades of service, compassion, healthcare leadership, and advocacy

At the 2026 Illuminations event, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care proudly presented its annual Quality of Life Award to Dr. David Greenberg and Paulette Greenberg in recognition of their extraordinary and lasting impact on the Colorado Springs community.

Presented each year during Illuminations, the Quality of Life Award honors individuals whose lives and service embody compassion, positivity, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of others throughout the Pikes Peak region. Recipients reflect the values at the heart of hospice and palliative care: dignity, connection, service, and community.

For more than 50 years, David and Paulette Greenberg have dedicated themselves to serving the Colorado Springs community through healthcare leadership, education, volunteerism, and advocacy. Their influence has touched countless individuals and organizations across Southern Colorado.

In 2003, the Greenbergs founded the Greenberg Center for Learning & Tolerance, helping foster education, understanding, and inclusion throughout the region. Their ongoing commitment to dignity and respect for all people has become a hallmark of their community leadership.

Paulette Greenberg has served on more than two dozen nonprofit boards during her years of community involvement, including two terms on the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation board. Her dedication to philanthropy and volunteer leadership has strengthened many organizations serving families, seniors, patients, and vulnerable populations throughout Colorado Springs.

Dr. David Greenberg has built an accomplished career in medicine and cardiovascular care. As head of cardiology at Memorial Hospital, now part of UCHealth, he helped shape heart health services and patient care for generations of Southern Colorado residents. Throughout his career, he has remained committed not only to medical excellence, but also to compassionate care and community wellbeing.

Together, the Greenbergs have become longtime champions of healthcare, heart health awareness, education, volunteerism, and inclusion. Their legacy reflects the same mission embraced every day by Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care: improving quality of life for individuals and families facing serious illness and end-of-life journeys.

The Illuminations event continues to bring together supporters, caregivers, community leaders, and families in celebration of compassion and connection throughout the Pikes Peak region. Honoring individuals like David and Paulette Greenberg highlights the powerful difference that dedicated service and kindness can make in the lives of others.

Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care is grateful to recognize the Greenbergs for their extraordinary contributions and enduring impact on Colorado Springs and Southern Colorado.
