Veteran Café strengthens community and support for veterans in Fountain

Through shared stories, valuable resources, and meaningful connections, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care helps veterans stay informed, engaged, and connected

Each month, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care has the honor of hosting a Veteran Café at the Fountain Valley Senior Center on the second Friday—and it continues to be one of the highlights of our community outreach.

This vibrant and welcoming group brings veterans together for connection, conversation, and meaningful support. It’s a space where stories are shared, resources are provided, and camaraderie continues long after service.

In May, we welcomed a VA representative who shared helpful insights on VA benefits, giving veterans a better understanding of the support available to them. This month, DAV representatives provided valuable information on transportation services and Disability Service Officer (DSO) support. We also heard from a veteran who recently participated in an Honor Flight, along with interim director Reggie Ash, who shared reflections on his military service.

Moments like these are a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and community that exists among our veterans. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to bring people together in this way and to continue supporting those who have served.

If you’re a veteran in the area, we would love to have you join us at a future Veteran Café—your seat is always waiting.
