Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care celebrates nurses week with Sunny Vista Living Center

A decorated coffee and pastries cart brought appreciation, connection, and encouragement directly to nurses and caregivers throughout Sunny Vista Living Center

During Nurses Week, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care partnered with Sunny Vista Living Center to celebrate the healthcare professionals who provide compassionate care and support to patients and residents every day.

To recognize the dedication and hard work of nurses and caregivers, the Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care team created a special coffee and pastries cart and traveled throughout Sunny Vista Living Center, visiting nurses stations and serving hot coffee, iced coffee, and pastries to staff members across the community.

The event was designed to provide a small moment of appreciation and encouragement during Nurses Week while also strengthening the partnership between the two organizations. From early morning shifts to long days spent caring for residents and families, nurses and caregivers play an essential role in creating comfort, dignity, and connection in healthcare settings.

At Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, community partnerships are an important part of supporting quality care throughout the Colorado Springs region. Collaborating with organizations like Sunny Vista Living Center helps create opportunities to recognize healthcare professionals and reinforce the shared mission of compassionate, person-centered care.

While the coffee cart may have been a simple gesture, the conversations, smiles, and moments of connection throughout the day reflected the deep appreciation both organizations have for the individuals who dedicate themselves to caring for others.

Nurses Week serves as an important reminder of the impact healthcare professionals have on patients, residents, families, and entire communities. Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care is grateful for the opportunity to celebrate alongside Sunny Vista Living Center and looks forward to continuing to build strong partnerships that support compassionate care across Southern Colorado.
