Celebrating the People Who Make Pikes Peak Hospice Special
At Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, our mission is centered on caring for patients and supporting families. But behind that mission are the dedicated people who make that care possible every day.
This past Saturday, we had the opportunity to celebrate those people at our annual family picnic at Bear Creek Regional Park.
Employees and their families gathered for an afternoon of food, games, face painting and plenty of fun. The kids even enjoyed a visit from a magician, adding a little extra excitement to the celebration.
But while the food and activities made the day enjoyable, the real reason we gather each year is much more important: to celebrate and thank our employees for all they do.
Celebrating Our Team
Hospice and palliative care is deeply meaningful work. Every day, our employees support patients and families through some of life's most important moments.
Whether they are providing direct clinical care, offering emotional and spiritual support, helping families navigate difficult decisions or keeping our organization running behind the scenes, each person plays an important role in our mission.
Their work requires compassion, skill, patience and dedication.
It also takes a special kind of person to do this work well.
That is why creating opportunities to come together, enjoy one another's company and celebrate as a team is so important. Our annual family picnic gives employees a chance to step away from their day-to-day responsibilities, spend time with colleagues and enjoy time with the people who support them outside of work.
Thanking the Families Behind Our Employees
We also recognize that our employees don't do this work alone.
Their families and loved ones are an important part of the support system that allows them to give so much to our patients and community. Inviting families to join us for the picnic is one way we can recognize and thank them, too.
At Pikes Peak Hospice, we are proud to have a team that cares so deeply about the people we serve. We are equally proud of the culture they create together — one built on compassion, teamwork, respect and a shared commitment to our community.
The picnic was a wonderful reminder that while our work can be serious and challenging, there is also tremendous joy in being part of a team that makes a difference.
