Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care expands community grief support through Voices of Grief Partnership

With new support groups, expanded one-to-one care, and a shared vision for healing, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care and Voices of Grief are growing compassionate grief services across the Pikes Peak region

In early April, Pikes Peak Hospice announced it was assuming the programming of Voices of Grief, ensuring continued access to compassionate grief services for individuals and families throughout the community. Group sessions are planned for this summer. To read more about this impactful program, go here: https://pikespeakhospice.org/voicesofgrief

Below, Sarah Lee, formerly with Voices of Grief and now continuing this meaningful work through Pikes Peak Hospice's Center for Grief & Loss, shares a reflection on this transition.

“Through these early weeks of spring, I have been soaking in the beauty of early blooms and buds appearing on the trees. It brings me joy to see the potential of the fullness of summer beginning to emerge. There has been a similar hope brewing in my heart over the past few months as conversations have developed with the leadership of Pikes Peak Hospice about this new partnership. They have consistently supported and encouraged our work through Voices of Grief to bring hope and healing to our community.

“One of my deepest convictions is that there is hope for all who are navigating the darkness of loss to find their way into a new fullness of life. This is the thread that runs through our outreach work, educational presentations, and support groups. All of this will continue, and together with the team at Pikes Peak Hospice, we are envisioning even more. Through combined efforts, we have already expanded opportunities for the bereaved to receive one-to-one support. We will continue offering support groups in varied locations, and we are exploring additional specialty groups to address particular needs in the community.  Together with Pikes Peak Hospice, we continue to envision a compassionate culture of grief expression where loss is honored and hope nurtures healing. I am honored to carry this work forward and look forward with joyful expectation to a new season of flourishing care.”
