This Memorial Day weekend, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care was honored to join the Board of Commissioners of El Paso County for a special proclamation recognizing Memorial Day and paying tribute to the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.
Memorial Day is a time for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance. Across the country, families and communities pause to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces. At Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, this observance carries special meaning as we continue our longstanding commitment to caring for veterans and their families throughout our community.
Each year, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care serves more than 450 veterans, providing compassionate hospice and palliative care that recognizes the unique experiences, challenges, and needs of those who have served. From specialized care planning to ceremonies of recognition and emotional support, our team is dedicated to ensuring veterans receive the dignity, respect, and gratitude they deserve.
We are also proud to be the only hospice in the region to hold the prestigious five-star status through the We Honor Veterans program. This national recognition reflects our organization’s ongoing commitment to meeting the highest standards in veteran-centered care and honoring the service of veterans at every stage of life.
Through the We Honor Veterans program, our staff receives specialized training to better understand military culture, address the unique needs of veterans facing serious illness, and provide meaningful recognition opportunities that acknowledge their service and sacrifice.
As we gather with loved ones this Memorial Day weekend, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember and honor those who gave their lives in defense of our country. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care is deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve veterans and their families, and we remain committed to honoring their legacy through compassionate, respectful care every day of the year.
