The 2026 Illuminations luncheon, held on May 6, was an incredible success, bringing together nearly 450 supporters, community partners, and friends in celebration of the mission of Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care. Thanks to the generosity of those in attendance, the event raised meaningful support for compassionate end-of-life care in our community.
The inspiring event featured heartfelt stories, special moments of remembrance, and generous giving in support of patients and families facing serious illness. Highlights from the evening included:
This year’s Illuminations event also featured the debut of a powerful new video showcasing the compassionate care provided every day by the Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care team. The video highlighted the meaningful difference our caregivers make by bringing comfort, dignity, connection, and support to patients and families during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Since 1980, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care has walked alongside individuals and families facing serious illness, providing expert physical, emotional, and spiritual care when it matters most. While the journey through serious illness can feel overwhelming, no one has to face it alone.
Through compassionate hospice and palliative care services, our team remains committed to helping patients live with comfort and dignity while supporting loved ones every step of the way.
Each year, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care recognizes a member of the community who makes a positive impact on the lives of residents of our region with our Quality of Life Award, presented at our signature event, Illuminations.
Recipients of this award embody positivity by passion for life and their joy of serving others. This year, the Quality of Life Award was presented to Dr. David and Paulette Greenberg, recognizing a lifetime of service through both professional and volunteer roles. The Greenbergs have been active members of the community for five decades, including founding the Greenberg Center for Learning & Tolerance in 2003. Paulette has served on over two dozen nonprofit boards, including two terms on the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation board. David has had an illustrious career as a cardiologist, serving as the head of cardiology at Memorial Hospital, (UC Health). Both David and Paulette are longtime champions of heart health, education, community service, and inclusion and dignity for all.
It is because of our wonderful sponsors that 100% of every gift donated at Illuminations will go directly to programs and services for our patients and their families.
