Where specialized care feels like home: the vision behind the Pikes Peak Hospice Inpatient Care Center

We’re honored to see Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care’s Inpatient Care Center (ICC) featured in the August/September issue of North Magazine.
As Pikes Peak Hospice President Dawn Darvalics explains in the article, “The vision [of the ICC] was to create a place that combined highly specialized care with warmth, dignity, and the comfort of home.” The feature highlights how Pikes Peak Hospice brought that vision to life.
That vision is also reflected in the ICC’s approach to care. While the center provides the clinical expertise and specialized services patients may need, it also offers an environment designed to feel less like a medical facility and more like a comfortable, supportive place where patients and their loved ones can spend meaningful time together.
The Inpatient Care Center is an important resource for the Colorado Springs community, providing specialized hospice care when patients’ needs can no longer be managed at home or when additional support is needed. At the heart of that care is a commitment to treating every patient with dignity, compassion and respect.
