Grief support close to home: Facing the Mourning comes to Woodland Park

Navigating grief after the loss of a loved one can feel overwhelming, but no one has to face it alone. Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care is committed to connecting individuals and families with compassionate support and resources throughout our community, including right here in Woodland Park.

Last Saturday, our team participated in Community Resource Day at the Woodland Park Library, sharing information about grief and upcoming support opportunities for those experiencing loss.

One of the resources highlighted was our upcoming Facing the Mourning support group, beginning October 28 in Woodland Park. The group offers an opportunity for people experiencing grief to connect with others, share experiences, and find understanding and support as they navigate life after loss.

By bringing this group to Woodland Park, we hope to make grief support more accessible to local residents. Whether you've recently experienced a loss or are continuing to work through grief, connecting with others who understand can be a meaningful part of the journey.

A special four-legged guest

Our team had some extra help connecting with the community, thanks to Miss Skye! This special member of the PPHPC family joined us to share the comfort and connection that pet therapy can bring. Miss Skye was a major hit with attendees, bringing smiles and helping demonstrate how the presence of a therapy animal can offer comfort and connection.

We're grateful to everyone who stopped by our table and to the Woodland Park Library for hosting this community event.
